Supporting electromobility in Europe

Electromobility can help reduce the impact of climate change, increase the EU’s energy supply from renewable sources and improve the quality of life in urban areas by creating a healthier living environment. It also has the potential to strengthen the competitiveness of the European automotive industry by linking it to low-carbon technologies, as used for hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles. The EIB in particular supports R&D for the development of electric vehicle technologies.
