The EIB in Lithuania in 2008-2012

In 2008-2012, the European Investment Bank (EIB) provided loans in Lithuania totalling EUR 1.24 billion. Infrastructure was the largest recipient of EIB support in line with the EU’s aim of strengthening cohesion and convergence in the European Union. Furthermore, projects in the area of transport also received significant support from the EIB. Health and education, central elements of the knowledge society objective, also accounted for major shares.
