Review of current status and update on lending strategy

Following the successful conclusion at the Copenhangen Summit in December 2002 of the accession negociations for ten of the candidate countries, this paper assesses the status of the Bank's lending activity in the Accession Countries and identifies a number of key areas which are being reinforced to enhance the EIB's effectiveness in the region both up to and beyond the 2004 enlargement.
