Energising development

This is the aim of a new initiative that brought together Ban Ki Moon, Jose Manuel Barroso and other high-level representatives in Brussels on 16 April. The Bank supports the new push to provide access to sustainable energy for an additional 500 million people in developing countries by 2030 using technical and financial instruments. The EIB is joining forces with its partners with a view to presenting a pilot proposal at the Rio+20 summit in June. More
