Today 11 April 2016, the French Prime Minister is being greeted by the EIB President and Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle. This official visit is highly symbolic as the EIB gets set to play a bigger role in reviving growth and employment through investment in Europe. It will be the first time that a French Prime Minister pays an official visit to the Bank's headquarters.

The visit will include meetings, signing ceremonies and a press conference, culminating in the Prime Minister's announcement of EUR 2.1 billion of new EIB Group financing operations in France in the fields of climate action, agriculture, innovation, SMEs and sustainable transport, in the presence of promoters, journalists and EIB management.

The deployment of the Investment Plan for Europe within the EU, specifically in France, will form the centrepiece of the French Prime Minister's visit, with the signing of five new loans in support of innovative businesses and SMEs in France.
