The European Investment Bank (EIB) is organising a two-day-conference on:  “Financing of regional and municipal investments in the Czech Republic” in Hradece, Czech Republic on 22 and 23 September 2015.

The main goal of the conference is to demonstrate the numerous opportunities for urban infrastructure and public utilities improvement in the Czech Republic and the potential for cooperation with the EIB, underscoring the EU Bank’s experience and expertise in financing these important sectors.

Through panel discussions and case studies, speakers will address the role of EIB loans and EU grants in local and regional infrastructure funding. Attendees at the workshop will have the opportunity to hear from a representative of the Ministry of Finance on pertinent accounting and financing topics. Constraints, successful cases and lessons learned from past experiences will be reviewed.

A high-level panel discussion on Tuesday 22 September will focus on the 2014-2020 programming period. This will be followed by a more technical oriented working session during the morning of Wednesday 23 September.

This two-day conference will bring together representatives from the Czech Ministry of Finance, the European Commission, as well as stakeholders from local and regional authorities from the Czech Republic.
