Former Romanian Minister of Public Finance, Mr Sebastian Vlădescu has been re-appointed Minister of Public Finance of Romania, succeeding Mr Gheorghe Pogea. Mr Vlădescu thus also becomes EIB Governor for Romania.

Mr Vlădescu, born in 1958, served as Minister of Public Finance of Romania between 2005 and 2007. Following the formation of a new Romanian government on 23/12/2009, he has been re-appointed Minister of Public Finance of Romania.

Mr Vlădescu previously also served as State Secretary and Counselor in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (1997) and in the Ministry of Finance (between 1998 and 2000). Between 2001 and 2005 he was a finance director in a private company and between April and August 2005 he was president of the Supervising Council of Banca Comercială Română. He graduated in 1983 from the Commerce Faculty of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
