Career

  • 24 January 1966 : Joined the Public Service at Executive Officer level within the Department of Inland Revenue
  • 9 December 1975 : Posted within the Ministry of Finance where he served within the Budget Office first at Administrative Officer level and then in the position of Assistant Director level
  • 18 April 1988 : Posted at Assistant Director Level within the Economic Planning Division, then within the Office of the Prime Minister
  • 1 January 1991 : Appointed Principal Government Statistician at the Central Office of Statistics
  • 2 May 1995 : Appointed Account General at The Treasury
  • 30 July 1996 : Appointed Director General (Financial Administration) within the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs

Current core area of responsibilities

  • Providing for the maintenance of a legislative framework that would both regulate and facilitate financial management across the Public Service
  • Ensure both at the EU pre-accession stage and on membership, that those obligations arising out of the relevant Chapters of the Acquis, and for which the Ministry of Finance is responsible, are duly carried out
  • Supervise the operations of the Treasury and of the International Relations Department of the Ministry
