Ralph Müller and Jörn Thiessen, members of the Board of Directors

By letter dated 20 August 2008, the Federal Republic of Germany nominated:

  • Mr Ralph Müller (Head of the Department for the EU Budget, Federal Ministry of Finance), current alternate Board Member, for appointment as Full Member of the Board of Directors to succeed Mr Carsten Pillath, who had tendered his resignation.
  • Mr Jörn Thiessen (Referent in the Department for the EU Budget, Federal Ministry of Finance) for appointment as Alternate Member of the Board of Directors to succeed Mr Ralph Müller.

By letter dated 27 August 2008, the Board of Governors were invited to vote on the proposed appointments.

The decision to nominate Messrs Ralph Müller and Jörn Thiessen was taken on 18 September 2008, the date on which the requisite majority of Governors' votes was reached.

The term of office of Messrs Ralph Müller and Jörn Thiessen will expire in 2013, at the end of the day of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors during which the annual report, balance sheet and profit and loss account for the 2012 financial year are examined.
