Press Conferences Invitation

Philippe Maystadt, President of the European Investment Bank is pleased to invite journalists to a press conference, to the signature of a major loan in Poland and to the opening of the EIB Forum 2004 on Thursday 14 October 2004 at 12:45 hrs at Hotel Westin, Room Gemini, 2nd floor Al. Jana Pawla II, Warsaw.

EIB Vice-Presidents Wolfgang Roth and Ivan Pilip, responsible for lending operations in the new EU Member States and the Accession Countries will give a briefing on EIB activities in Poland and on Bank's priorities to meet investment needs in the new Member States. EIB President Philippe Maystadt and Polish Minister of Finance Miros?aw Gronicki will join at 13:30 hrs to sign a loan of EUR 250 million to co-finance science and innovation projects in Poland. The press conference will be followed by a question and answer session.

Marek Belka, Prime Minister of Poland and Philippe Maystadt, will open the 10th EIB Forum at 14:00 hrs and you will have the opportunity to participate at 16:00 in a joint press meeting with Danuta Hübner, Nominee Member of the European Commission responsible for Regional Policy. The briefing will focus on issues related to the EU Regional Development policy.

Interpretation into Polish will be provided. Lunch will be served during the press conference prior to the opening of the Forum.
