The Court of Justice of the European Union
As the guardian of the Treaties, the Court of Justice of the European Union rules on any disputes which may arise between the Bank and its Member States and, where necessary, assesses the legality of the decisions taken by the EIB's Board of Governors and Board of Directors.
The Court may also, by virtue of an arbitration clause or a clause prescribing the competent court, decide on disputes between the Bank and its borrowers or lenders.
Lastly, the Court rules on disputes between the EIB and its staff.
