In one operation financed by the EIB, where there was an incident involving involuntary resettlement, there were allegations that the Project-Affected People (PAP) were discriminated against as belonging to the Roma community. The Bank has been implementing a very significant remediation plan for several years now. The EIB’s treatment of the PAP in this context, and its treatment of PAP throughout the portfolio, has been non-discriminatory, in line with its commitments under the SAGNs.
