The EIB has historically commissioned external assessment of the integration of environmental and social issues into its policies, procedures and related risk assessment. The EIB’s Internal Audit performs audits of lending products and processes as part of a multi-year risk-based plan; these audits may involvement assessment of procedural aspects of the EIB’s approach to environmental/social issues.
